About the
Founder
Jordi Quirch is a rising senior in the IB Program at Gulliver Prep. He plays lacrosse year around, whether in school or on various club teams. Jordi has been studying business in school and through college programs for 5 years, as well as working internships for three summers. In particular, he is fond of finance and passionate about empowering individuals by teaching them financial literacy and equipping them with the tools to make better financial decisions.
“After researching income inequality across the United States, I found that low income is directly correlated with financial illiteracy. To combat this growing problem, I founded Budget Buddies, which aims to foster financial literacy, with the hopes of providing individuals with the knowledge and tools necessary to be financially free in their future. I decided to target low income communities specifically because these individuals do not have access to personal finance courses, given that the schooling system opted out of mandatory personal financial curricula across the country. By targeting this demographic I believe we can counteract the systemic growth in income inequality across the state, and hopefully build a more educated and more economically mobile community.”
